Reader Submission: A Poem by Elaine Dickinson
[ Readers, I received the following poem from friend of the Plymouth County Observer Elaine Dickinson, of Harwich, ahead of the Save Our Bay Standout on Sunday, June 5th, at Cole’s Hill. She has kindly granted me permission to publish it here. A few photos I took of the rally are included as well. ]

Plymouth
by Elaine Dickinson
Plymouth — so vibrant and beautiful
Tourists’ and Pilgrims’ invasion
Restaurants, shops and so much historical
Plymouth Rock, the Mayflower, Cole’s Hill & Plimoth Plantation
America’s hometown since 1620
With soft sands & glorious views
The beaches alone are more than plenty
Also forests & pine barrens full of trails to choose.
Ellisville State Park & so many ponds
Fishing, kayaking, camping & swimming
One could explore all the beyonds
And find what we know: being in Plymouth is a blessing
Come dine on our seafood
And swim in our bay
You’ll be in such a good mood
So much fun, everyone at play
The locals and tourists alike
You can even visit and ride your bike.
But if HOLTEC has their way
And 1 million gallons of radiated waste water
Gets dumped in our bay
Years to come what will be said about this monster ?
They have made Plymouth, America’s hometown into a GHOST TOWN!!
And why, we all ask?? For HOLTEC’s profit they will poison us and our BAY!!
Not one drop we all say!!!
